I wanted simple, comfy, and smooth mitts to deal with cold times. The brioche stitch pattern—springy and thick—seemed to be perfect for the project I had in mind. I was inspired by the work and philosophy of Friedensreich Hundertwasser, an Austrian architect and painter. He loved curved lines and often used parallel ones. The lines of the brioche stitch pattern following the hand’s shapes are a reminder of his paintings.
