This is a pattern for a very basic pair of sport-weight socks (vanilla socks, as many seasoned knitters call them). This one is a little different, though.

Take your shoes off and have a look at your feet. is one of your middle toes longer than the rest? If so, great! Most standard sock patterns probably fit your feet, and you should use the Symmetrical Toe option in this pattern.

Is your big toe the longest? Mine too! I’ve found that the way most sock patterns are written don’t fit my feet well, so I’ve included an Asymmetrical Toe option in this pattern (the pair shown in the photos use this toe option). Note that the right and left socks will be different if you use this toe option.

The cuff and foot length of this sock can be adjusted as desired, but keep in mind that if you wish to make the cuff significantly longer than 6” (15 cm) and/or the foot significantly longer than 9” (23 cm), you may need an extra skein of yarn.
