MATERIALS
200 (250, 250, 250, 300) g Isager Jensen Yarn = A
50 (75, 75, 75, 100) g Isager Silk Mohair = A
100 (150, 150, 150, 200) g Isager Tvinni = B
100 (150, 150, 150, 200) g Isager Alpaca 1 = B
NOTE: The yarn consumption varies depending on which shape you choose: short and wide or narrow and long.
To achieve an overall tapestry effect in knitting this model, choose two different colors for A, so they harmonize together.
SUGGESTED COLORS FOR A =
Jensen, Color 1s and Silk Mohair, Color 28 (=A1)
Jensen, Color 52s and Silk Mohair, Color 60 (=A2)
Jensen, Color 59s and Silk Mohair, Color 59 (=A1)
Jensen, Color 13s and Silk Mohair, Color 2 (=A2)
Jensen, Color 8s and Silk Mohair, Color 7s (=A1)
Jensen, Color 6s and Silk Mohair, Color 0 (=A2)
Jensen, Color 12s and Silk Mohair, Color 12 (=A1)
Jensen, Color 29s and Silk Mohair, Color 59 (=A2)
SUGGESTED COLORS FOR B =
Tvinni, Color 4s and Alpaca 1, Color Forest
Tvinni, Color 101 and Alpaca 1, Color 100
Tvinni, Color 47 and Alpaca 1, Color 47
Tvinni, Color 30 and Alpaca 1, Color 30
All 8 x A-Colors work nicely with all 4 x B-Colors and can be
combined freely. However, there should be a clear contrast between A and B.
The bottom edge, collar and cuffs should be knitted in 1×1 ribbing pattern holding 2 strands of Alpaca 1 with 1 strand of Tvinni.
If it is desired to knit the garment in tapestry or intarsia knitting technique, defined as using color for an overall visual effect, then approximately 9 meters (or 10 yards) will be needed for each square. It might be helpful to wind the yarn needed for each square on separate yarn bobbins. Otherwise, let the yarn hang loosely and simply pull the yarn as needed from the collection of other strands.
MEASUREMENTS
Chest Circumference: 121 (131, 140, 148, 161) cm or 48 (52, 55, 58, 63) inches
Total Length: 50 (55, 60, 65, 70) cm or 20 (22, 24, 26, 28) inches + bottom edge
Sleeve Length from underarm: 40 (35, 30) cm or 16 (14, 12) inches + cuff
The model is equally suitable for women and men. However, for the man’s version, the cuff should be knitted a little tighter and possibly with fewer stitches at the bottom edging.
CONSTRUCTION NOTES
The pullover is knitted from the bottom up to the underarms beginning for the Back. Then, the sleeve stitches are added at the underarm sides and these stitches are continued over the shoulder and the Front. The knitted piece ends at the bottom edge of the Front. It is then blocked, and the Sleeve and side seams are sewn together. Lastly, the collar, sleeve cuffs and bottom edge are knitted in 1×1 ribbing and are bound off using a beautiful tubular, Italian cast off.
RECOMMENDED NEEDLE SIZE
5.5 mm (US 9) for the pattern and 4 or 4.5mm (US 6 or 7) for the edgings
