Trifid Socks
by Georg Hawks
The Trifid Nebula is named because it appears to be divided almost equally into three parts, and looks a bit like this.
The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham is a post-apocalyptic novel that features sentient carnivorous plants called triffids. Trifid is also a type of code based on sets of three, but I recommend searching wikipedia for more information on that. In devising a pattern, I’ve tried to combine plant elements with threes. I hope you like it.
Makes Ladies’ size US 9 socks, with suggestions for altering to your size. This is a lacier sock and looser than my usual twisted socks.
This sock is written for the Holiday Yarns Stellar Sock Club.
