Trifle
I love trifle, an English dessert where fruit and cream are piled one on top of the other.
While I was enjoying this dessert, I thought of layering yarn like colorful fruit with white cream. That should be a great idea for a shawl. Candy-colored yarn would look great in combination with a matching plain yarn.
The interplay of smooth knits and textured purls creates a lovely 3D effect as the scarf wraps itself around the neck.
I can’t wait to see which trifle you will create.

YARN
Version 1:
MC: Susurro by Malabrigo Yarn (Sport, 50% Silk, 25% Linen / Flax, 25% Merino; 297 meters / 100 grams)
2 skeins – color 131 sand bank
CC: Kidsilk by Olann Hand Dyed in Ireland (Lace, 72% Mohair, 28% Silk; 450 meters / 50 grams)
2 skeins – color North star
Version 2:
MC: Merlino by WalkCollection (Fingering, 90% Merino, 10% Linen / Flax; 360 meters / 100 grams) – 2 skeins in color Aurora
CC: Suri Fluff by WalkCollection (Light Fingering, 74% Suri, 26% Silk; 300 meters / 50 grams) – 2 skeins in Petroleum
If you use a combination of other yarns, you will need about 550 meters each. The heavier yarn should be knitted as MC, the lighter yarn (Mohair or Suri Alpaca) as CC.
