Trio Jacket
Trio is my first garment available for sale :)
Corrections:
- on p.2, it should read “slip the first stitch of “each” row“.
An interesting knit with a complex cable/leaf/seed stitch pattern with bottom up construction combined with top down sleeves. Short rows are used for the sleeve caps, shoulder sloping, and the collar.
Description: Trio is an A-line, mid-hip length jacket with set-in, bracelet length, straight sleeves. It has a rounded collar on a wide jewel neckline. The cable-leaf-seed stitch lace pattern occurs on the fronts, sleeves and back. Mirroring cables run down the side. Moss stitch is used for the edgings, collar and button bands.
Construction: Trio is knitted flat in one piece from the bottom up simultaneously with the button bands. Upon reaching the armholes, the back and front pieces are divided and knitted separately. The shoulders are seamed and the sleeves are knitted top down.
Skills needed: Increasing and decreasing, reading a complex cable and lace chart, short row shaping, three needle BO, top down knitting, working in the round, picking up stitches, and working buttonholes.
Gauge: Note -- Designer is a loose knitter, so adjust accordingly
