This quick-to-knit lace shawl begins with a garter stitch tab and is then worked in typical rectangular shawl fashion – from the center out to the point. The lace pattern stitches are both written and charted.

Finish with a knitted-on garter stitch border (stretchy!) that will feel wonderfully familiar to fans of knitted-on edgings for hap shawls and afghans. Alternatively, get it off the needles even faster with a simple bind off.

This pattern was originally published in the Classic Elite Yarns Web-Letter in 2010 (knit in Princess, shown in pink). Following the closure of CEY, that version of the pattern is no longer available. The 2023 version, shown in green, omits two Tulip Lace repeats, includes written instructions and has an optional knitted-on garter edging.
