A cynical person would attempt to turn her ear worm into a meaningful exegesis on a sweater. Instead, I’ll tell you that this sweater was named several weeks before publication when a couple I ran into at Rhinebeck asked me what it was called and I decided, on the spot, to name it after the song in my head.

Sizes
30 (32, 35, 38, 41, 43.5, 46.5, 50) designed to fit with at least 2” negative ease.
Sample (the purple one) is shown in a size 35 on a model with a 35” upper bust and 37” full bust.

Construction Notes
The sweater is knit from the top down, first in pieces: each shoulder is knit separately, joined together to work the back to the underarms; then stitches for the front are picked up and the front is worked flat to the underarms; then stitches are cast on for the underarms as the front and back pieces are joined; the remainder of the body is knit in the round.
