This pattern is the result of playing around with the chart for the Keukenhof Capelet on a smaller scale. (See the Keukenhoff Capelet pattern here. We wanted to use some of the new yarn cakes made by the dyers at Jorstad Creek from “yarn blanks”, a technique that allows you to paint long striped colorways on the yarn. The use of long stripes and the gradient transition of overlapping colors is a great way to do a stranded knitting pattern without the many bits of colored yarn and ends to sew in.

You’re in control, so if you don’t like the way the colors are stacking vertically in the pattern you can break the yarn and start at the next color transition. Knit with two yarns that are larger in gauge, this is a quick knit for a stunning result with Jorstad Creek yarns!

The cowl takes 1 complete skein of Arranmore and 1/2 skein of Kodiak.

Kits from Jorstad Creek Yarns include the pattern.
