Piper by Quince & Co. (50% Texas superfine merino, 50% Texas super kid mohair; 50 grams / 305 yards / 279 meters)

• One pair of straight needles in size US 5 3.75 mm
• One 32” 80 cm circular needle (circ) in size US 5 3.75 mm

Gauge
21 sts and 46 rows = 4” / 10 cm in garter stich, before wet-blocking
20 sts and 37 rows = 4” / 10 cm in garter stich, after wet-blocking.
Notes
Shawl begins with border, knit sideways. Stitches are picked up along straight side of border and worked in garter stitch with short rows, creating a crescent shape. It is not necessary to pick up wraps while working short rows. Wet-blocking is recommended to open up stitches.
Errata
Rows 17-19 of chart are incorrect. Please work as follows:
Row 17: (RS) Sl 1, k2, yo, ssk, k12, yo, ssk, k3 sts to end.
Row 18: Sl 1, k21 sts to end.
Row 19: Sl 1, k2, yo, ssk, k10, k2tog, yo, k5 sts to end.
