Tulip Preemie Hat
Yay! The pdf of this pattern has just been updated, and the pesky errata is no longer necessary!
These adorable petal-shaped hats knit up quickly in an evening and really show off the beauty of self-striping yarns. Any preemie would be proud to be seen in such a cute hat, and any NICU mom or dad would appreciate a splash of the outdoors in that sterile environment.
The pattern comes with sizing for both sport weight and sock/fingering weight yarns. Make sure you pick something soft and machine washable and dryable. (That’s why I love using sock yarn for baby hats!) I’ve knit them in the round using two circular needles, but you can easily use dpn’s if that’s what you prefer.
One ball of yarn is enough to make 3 to 4 hats, depending on the sizes you choose.
Thanks for knitting for preemies and their families! We really do appreciate it.
