These beautiful Socks start with a Disappearing Cast on, then increase at the corners to a flat square of stockinette. Toe shaping starts by slowing the rate of increase at the two side corners. The foot shaping is in two vees, increased in the center of the foot and instep, decreased on both sides. The heel is formed by short-row wedges, all of which include central increases.

To keep the gaps between the wedges to a minimum, complete rows are worked between each wedge. The leg is worked the same way as the foot. The top of the sock is two filled-in stockinette triangles. Then it is finished with 1/1 ribbing and finally Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy bind-off.

The Anklet variation is worked the same until after the heel. Instead of a leg portion, the vees are filled in simultaneously, raising the back of the heel into a triangle.
Then, like the sock, it is finished with some 1,1 ribbing and the same bind off.
