Turned to Stone Hood
This pattern was originally published as Northwest Wools’ contribution to the 2026 Rose City Yarn Crawl, March 5-8, 2026 in Portland, Oregon. This pattern is also available for download as part of the 2026 Pattern Collection: Mythical Creatures.
The Turned to Stone Hood is a cozy cover-up for your head and neck. It features snake-like cables reminiscent of Medusa, the famous Gorgon of myth whose serpent-covered head turned mortals to stone. The hood’s unique construction makes it a fun knit, and the softness of Fiona Kay Knit’s Outlaw DK yarn will make you never want to take it off.
