Tutti Frutti Baby Set
This was my first published design. The set includes a hat, a bag and a blanket. It was a fun knit—love, love mosaic knitting.
Just a quick note about the blanket pattern in the book. The instructions for the corners of the blanket border can be a little confusing. So to clear things up a bit…
On each side of the blanket you will have two stitches before and after each corner stitch that should be knitted plain and you will have 5 triangles, with one stitch in between each.
Here’s how it works out…
On each side, knit the first 2 sts plain, join the 14 stitches of a triangle to the blanket, k1 stitch plain; repeat from the 4 times for a total of 5 triangles and 5 stitches from the blanket knitted plain—75 sts + the 2 sts at the beg of the round = 77 sts for the first side so far. You will be ending this pattern with a k1. You should have one stitch left remaining before the corner stitch, knit that stitch—78 sts. Knit the corner stitch. Repeat these steps for the remaining three sides.
There are 78 sts on each side of the blanket plus 4 corner stitches to give a total of 316 sts.
