This pattern uses UK crochet terms and is suitable for a confident beginner who is keen to learn new stitches and add some texture to their makes. The textures in this pattern are created by making cluster stitches on alternate rows. This creates gentle ripples with lots of visual interest. These textured stitches look their best when worked in a smooth yarn. Besides working the pattern in a single colour or colour blocks, you can also use a colour changing or gradient yarn to make a stunning blanket. The sample in the photograph uses three colours changing colour every six rows.

For simplicity, the pattern instructions are written using a single colour, but you can be as adventurous or creative as you want with colour placement. If changing colours, I would suggest changing colours at the end of a row 2. Just remember to ensure you have enough yardage to complete your colour repeats. This blanket is also great for using up your yarn stash.
