Twelve-Bar Blues is a large, squishy dream of a shawl designed for worsted weight yarn. The shawl is worked from the corner out, with an overall lace pattern and a border cabled motif.

Both charted and written instructions are provided for the cable motif.

Skill level: Intermediate.

Skills needed: knit, purl, yarn overs, double yarn overs, basic cables (four-stitch cables held to the front and back, four-stitch left and right purl crosses), increases and decreases (k2tog, ssk, p2tog, ssp, m1, m1p).

Materials: 840 yards (770 meters) of worsted weight yarn, one stitch marker, cable needle.
