Because I wanted this to be a really engaging knit, Iincluded an 8-color lineup.
I used two packs of Merino Cloud Gradients (4 colors per pack), combining Fuchsia and Olive colorways.

The pattern keeps you interested as the next color appears in the sequence. I also wanted to provide an easy to memorize lace pattern with loads of texture, which is why the twist stitches were used. I have always loved the fabric that knitting on the bias makes, and this shawl is no exception. The orientation of this lace pattern lends itself well to bias knitting and the slanted lines produce a modern, asymmetrical look. The end result is the perfect generous wrap which can be used in every season; wrap it lightly around the shoulders to avoid air conditioning chill in summer, fasten it with a shawl pin for fall and spring; or wrap it several times around the neck as a scarf to bundle up for winter.
