Twist Top
Stripes swirl, turn, and fly off your hook in the Twist Top! The bodice is worked first, with pieces cleverly wrapped around one another for a flattering and fashionable look. The lower body is worked sideways for flattering vertical stripes. A cotton/spandex yarn is perfect for this project, as it provides needed stretch for a close-fitting garment.

NOTES
-
Top is very stretchy and should be worn with 3–5” negative ease.
-
Top is sewn together from three pieces: two pieces, worked horizontally in turned rows, are twisted around each other and then seamed to self to create upper bodice; then a long rectangle is worked sideways and shaped along the top edge to create lower bodice.
-
When working stripes, carry unused color up side of work.
-
To change colors, work to last yarnover in old color, pick up new color, and complete stitch with new color.
-
Mark right side (RS) of pieces as you work for easier piecing together later.
