Twisted Love Mitts
The Twisted Love mitts are my homage to traditional twisted stitches. I loved the idea of presenting hearts in twisted stitches. These mitts are a match for my Twisted Love socks.
I also decided to carry the patterning up the palm, because I just love the twisted stitches. As it can be hairy to follow multiple charts, I have
presented the charts in two different formats to help you complete your Twisted Love mitts.
This pattern is meant for an adventurous intermediate to advanced knitter. Please read the entire pattern before beginning.
Yarn: 1 Skein Louet Gems Fingering Weight, 185 yards, 50 g, Cherry Red
Needle: US 1 (2.25 mm) Hiya Hiya Steel Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) or needles to obtain gauge
Gauge: 8.3 stitches per inch (spi) and 10 rows per inch (rpi) OR 33.2 stitches & 40 rows to 4 inches/10 cm in stockinette
Size: To fit a US women’s medium wrist, approx. 7.5” circumference
To alter the size: Adjust your gauge to increase or decrease the circumference of the wrist as needed. Please note that this pattern is not stretchy due to the twisted stitches and cables. An advanced knitter could also remove or exchange cable patterns to increase or decrease the size.
