These fun striped mittens are worked back and forth in rows and seamed to match the stripes exactly (with no worries about the jog in the stripe pattern that occurs when working in the round). With thumb gusset shaping on the side, the left and right are identical and will fit either hand. These would be great in a solid color too!

Size: Adult Medium

Recommended Yarn
Mousam Falls 4/6
(100% superwash wool; 100 g = 187 yards)
Shown in colors A - Steel and B - Lead
1 skein of each color will make 2 pairs of mittens
1 skein (100g = 187 yards) will make a solid color pair of mittens.

Gauge: 5 sts = 1”.

Suggested needle size: US 7 (4.5 mm)
Use whatever needle size you need to obtain accurate gauge.

Other tools: Stitch holder or waste yarn, two stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Hints: Make sure to try the mitten on while in progress to get a good fit. Note where in the stripe pattern you started/finished cuff, thumb gusset, and hand so you can easily make the second mitten to match.
