Pattern Description from Interweave Knits, Fall 2007: “Ann Budd combines several different cables, twisted ribs, and calf decreases to give her Tyrolean Stockings rugged details - as well as snug, leg-hugging fit. The wool yarn she used is totally green: It comes from sheep raised by organic methods and is processed without dyes or chemicals to create a yarn that looks rugged but is surprisingly soft.”

Finished Size: 7½“ foot circumference, 9¾” long from back of heel to tip of toe, and 15½“ long from CO to end of heel flap. To fit women’s U.S. shoe sizes 7½ to 8½.

Yarn: Green Mountain Spinnery Vermont Organic (100% wool; 250 yd 229 m/ 114 g): natural gray, 2 skeins.

Yarn Weight: #4 - Medium

Needles: Size 3 (3.25 mm): set of 4 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Marker (m); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.
