Unicorn Fantasy Bathimal Bath Mitt
We all need a little something to make our life more fun! Let’s be honest, I designed this for me. It’s a Unicorn. Your kids might love it too…Finally a use for your cotton yarn that’s both Fun and Practical as well as a quick and easy gift or product for your craft sales!
This Unicorn “Bathimal” mittie (my dad always called them “mitties”) is worked around a starting chain in continuous rounds, slightly contoured, with a simple yet elegant finish across the bottom. It is large enough to fit an average adult hand. The “Face”, including ears, is worked in rows with a border. Horn, mane, and eyes are added separately.
Gauge: (4 x 4-inch swatch) 18 hdc and 13 hdc rows (For Medium).
Supplies and Techniques
• 3.75mm hook (small) 4.0mm hook (med), 4.5mm hook (large) (slightly smaller hook may be needed to maintain gauge with sugar or peaches and cream as it is a thicker cotton).
• 100 yards “I love this cotton”- (used for design), “sugar and cream” or “peaches and cream” yarn for main color, scraps of cotton contrast colors for curls, horn and sleepy eyes.
• Worked around both sides of a beginning chain.
Use Invisible decrease technique if possible.
