Urchin
The inspiration for this pattern was a beautiful picture of pastel colored urchins! URCHIN is a crescent shaped shawl in a two-color pattern with a vivid texture. It’s all about rows of knit and purl stitches—that’s why the pattern is perfect for beginners and newbies, too.
The shawl is worked in sections, alternating two stitch patterns: garter stitch with lace and tiny bobbles. Then it is finished with a simple I-cord. The repeating pattern stripes are pretty easy to knit; there will be no need for counting stitches or charts. The sample shawl combines semisolid and variegated yarn in two different colors.
