This pattern is part of Kate’s new Colours of Shetland collection which which is now available to purchase in print, and/ or digital editions
Cardigan with a pretty colourwork bodice and neat set-in sleeves, inspired by the hazy pinks and blues of Shetland’s luminous summer landscape.
This garment is knit in the round from the bottom up. Steeks are cut for the front and armscye openings, and the sleeves are then worked top-down.
Pattern includes full colour charts, and instructions for steeks and finishing.

MC: shade 202
10 (12, 13, 14, 16, 18) x 25g balls

Larger circular needle in the
following length:
1 x 60cm/24in long
Smaller circular needle in the
following lengths:
1 x 60cm/24in long (for working rib); 1 x 80-100cm/30-40in long or dpns (for working sleeve caps)
2 x 2mm (UK 14/US 0) circular needle, any length (for picking up sts for sleeve caps)
Spare needles or waste yarn for holding stitches
Stitch markers
Tension is absolutely crucial for this garment to fit correctly. You’ll need to swatch carefully and match the given tension for your size with the larger needle (usually 3mm or 2.75mm)
