Vaila is a top down seamless raglan sweater with a Fair Isle motif that starts just after the sleeve/body divide and gradually inverts from MC to CC towards the hem and the cuffs. The increases in the yoke are worked in a compound raglan for the smaller sizes, and raglan and radial increases for the larger sizes.

There are short rows at the back of the neck to create a comfortable fit. The lantern sleeves are straight along the length of the sleeve, with no decreases. Just before the cuff, the stitches are decreased to form a fitted cuff. The hem and cuffs are finished off in ribbing. The body has optional waistline shaping for a flattering fit achieved by changing needle size.
