How about some pretty lacy socks that feature some adorable hearts down the front and the back of the leg? Quick and easy to knit and easy to and just in time for spring and Valentine’s Day are these pretty little things with some easy to follow and memorize lacy panels. These stretchy socks split the difference between an all over lace pattern and few panels of vertical motifs. The interspersed stockinette columns allow for easy sizing without destroying the overall lace effect. A solid stockinette sole ensures a comfortable and smooth surface.

Knit cuff down with a traditional heel flap and side gussets. The lace patterns are given as charts only. This pattern is appropriate for the intermediate knitter who is comfortable knitting a sock with a standard construction as well as following charts.

Yarn recommendations: choose a light colored yarn that is only minimally variegated or solid. Dark yarn and heavy variegation will obscure the lace pattern.

Note: I knit with 5 DPNs (stitches evenly distributed on 4 needles and then work around with a 5th), but I have attempted to generalize my instructions for those who use alternate needle set-ups.
