Valerian
Valerian is a feminine, open-work hat whose lace design mimics the sprawling roots of the valerian plant. Named from the Latin word “valere,” which means “to be well,” the valerian root produces a calming effect and is often used to treat anxiety.
So grab yourself some lofty yarn, something to sip on, then sit, knit, and “be well.”
Yardage:
70 (80, 100, 130, 150) yards 64 (73, 92, 119, 137) meters of DK weight yarn such as Malabrigo Silky Merino, shown in Lettuce (37), Acorn (433), and Nocturnal (472)
OR
Fingering weight and mohair/silk lace weight held together to create dk weight, shown in Magpie Fibers Swanky Sock and Feather in Bougie Beaver colorway.
This pattern is part of the Knitter’s Apothecary Collection E-Book, published in partnership with the Malabrigo Freelance Pattern Project.
