Inspired by the picture of the Valley of Rocks in Devon, I designed this sock (originaly with JA Exmoor sock) for the Summer of Socks 2022 of Wol met Verve. The sock is worked from top down with a heel that is worked after the toe is finished. Written for two sizes. The fair isle pattern is charted. Left and right are the same.
Yarn:
John Arbon, Exmoor sock, 60%Exmoor Blueface, 20% corriedale, 10% zwartebls 10% nylon.
CC1 Mackerel-Sky
CC2 Quick Beam
CC3 Whortleberries
Wol met Verve, Basic Sock 4-ply 50g, 75% wool, 25% nylon (superwash)
50g = 210 meter. You need one skein (50 gr) of each colour for both sizes.
Sample:
CC1 Frozen Blue (light blue)
CC2 Monarch Orange
CC3 Island Blue (dark blue)
Needles: 2.25mm/ US 2 needles or size needed to obtain correct gauge.
Stitch markers
Waste yarn in contrast colour with CC1 and CC3 for the heel
