I began to think about a vampire shawl, flowing from grey to intense red and ending with blood drops.

Lorena of Live or Dye, the dyer of the fabulous yarn I have used for this shawl, perfectly interpreted my brief!
And from what I know about vampires, they would love a bit of gothic drapery.

A classic half-circle lace shawl, screaming for bold colours and relaxing lace!

Skills Needed

Cast on, knitting, basic increases and decreases

Gauge
21 sts and 26 rows over 10cm / 4” in garter stitch, severely wet blocked.
Gauge is not crucial for this project, but it will determine yarn usage and final measurements

Finished Measurements
Wingspan, 183 cm / 72”, depth 82 cm / 32.5”

Yarn
Approx 100 g , 800 m / 875 yd any lace-weight yarn

Sample is knit in:
Live or Dye Lace, 50% Merino, 50% Silk, colorway Vampire Hive

Needles
3.5 mm (US size 4), 150 cm / 60” circular needles, or size to obtain correct gauge
