Vārpa is a shallow, triangle-shaped shawl worked from the longer edge and satisfyingly progressing toward the tip. The distinctive vārpa braid motif alternates with solid stripes, creating a balanced rhythm of texture and calm.

Materials
Fingering weight yarn (CYC #1, Super Fine)
Concept by Katia Mohair Cotton (70% cotton, 30% mohair), 246 yds / 225 m per 50-g skein, or use any fingering weight mohair blend (fuzzy) yarn to achieve a similar effect

2 skeins / 492 yds / 450 m
Gauge
17 sts and 10 rows = 4’’ / 10 cm in dc
Vārpa leaf motif (opening and closing) = 1.5’’ / 4 cm high
Note that your slip stitch tension might affect the dimensions of the shawl
