Velvet Moss
When you want lace that feels engaging, not demanding, Velvet Moss is for you.
A true one-skein wonder, it’s perfect for that special skein of fingering-weight yarn you’ve been saving. The allover lace is easier than it looks and is worked only on right-side rows, with no purling.
You work the shawl diagonally from one corner to the opposite edge. Increases are worked on one side only, creating a slightly asymmetric triangle shape.
The size is easy to adjust to suit the amount of yarn you have. Knit until you reach the end of your skein, or add more yarn and keep going.
YARN
One skein of Malabrigo Yarn Sock (100% merino wool; 402 m / 440 yds per 100 g). Shown in colour Turner.
Or approximately 402 m / 440 yds of similar fingering weight yarn.
NEEDLES
Size 4 mm / US 6 needle or size to obtain pattern gauge
Although your work this shawl flat, I recommend using 80–100 cm / 32–40 inch circular needles to accommodate the growing number of stitches.
