Velvet Rose
Velvet Rose is a triangular shawl worked from the top center back to the edge. The stitch pattern is fairly easy which helps you sail through the main part quickly.
The body of the shawl is embellished with a flower edging. This edging consists of two rows of flower motifs: 24 motifs in the first row and 22 motifs in the second row. Each motif is begun separately and joined as you go, to the shawl and other motifs, in the last (third) round.
Materials:
- Yarn: Prairie by Madelinetosh, 100% merino, 840yd (768m) per skein, shade Robin Red Breast, 1 skein
- Hook: US D (3.25mm) for shawl body and US B (2.25mm) for flower motifs
- Yarn needle to weave in ends
Gauge:
- Pattern repeat (measured between the tops of two adjacent dc3tog) = 2’’ (5cm)
- Flower motif = 2’’ (5cm)
