Verbena
Verbena is a simply knit summer top with a casual draped body and fitted bodice. The asymmetric shape catches the eye while the fitted and draped top will pair well with many styles.
Construction Notes
Sample knit in 31 1/4” / 79.5 cm size. I recommend between 2-3” / 5-7.5 cm negative ease around the bust. Torso is meant to have plenty of positive ease.
The torso of this garment is knit horizontally starting with the mitered point then dividing the piece in half to work the front and back portions separately. Once the torso is complete stitches are picked up for the bust and it is worked in the round, then flat after the divide for arm openings and neckline.
Faux i-cord trim is worked along all selvages. Be certain to pull the carried yarn tight after slipping the three stitches at the start of each row to create this i-cord look.
