Monstera love, on a pillow!

Show your love of plants in your next crochet project! This leafy-inspired pillow is crocheted in simple single crochet, with an organic-shaped colour change on the front side. The monstera detail is added using a technique called surface slip stitch, once crocheting is complete.

The back of this pillow is a solid colour. This pattern contains instructions for a single solid back piece (for stuffing) and for two rectangular pieces to create a pocket (to add and remove a pillow form).

This pattern is designed to fit a standard 16” square pillow form or you may use stuffing.

Materials
YARN:

• Main Colour: 350 yds of bulky weight yarn
• Accent Colour: 135 yds of bulky weight yarn
• Embroidery: 10 yds of worsted weight yarn

HOOKS

• 7mm
• 4-5mm (optional, for crab stitch border)

OTHER:

• 16” × 16” pillow form (or stuffing)
• Yarn needle
• Utility knife (recommended) or scissors
• Straight pins
• Thread (colour doesn’t matter, should contrast yarn as it will be used as a guide)
• Monstera tracer printable (You will need access to a printer to print out 4 pages in black and white)
