Yarn kits for Vertex that include the pattern for free are available on Quince & Co!

Vertex is a playful pair of striped socks with a clever twist—an unexpectedly simple cable motif created with mosaic knitting. You’ll only ever work one color per round, making the striking design much easier than it looks!

These socks are knit top-down with my favorite techniques: a shadow-wrap short row heel and a rounded toe. The pattern is written for a 9” / 23 cm circular needle (with magic loop or DPNs recommended just for the toe), but it’s easily adaptable to whatever small-circumference method you prefer.

Worked up in Quince & Co. Starling, Vertex invites you to explore bold or subtle color combinations—and treat yourself to a pair of soft, sturdy socks that are just as fun to knit as they are to wear.
