Vesle Vinterfjell is the children’s version of my ‘Vinterfjell’ sweater pattern for adult. This sweater is worked seamlessly top-down in the round, with some short-rows to raise the neckline in the back. The pattern was originally released in 2018, but this is the 2020 updated pattern with two more sizes: age 1/2 and 2 years. Moreover, the entire pattern was reworked to improve the yoke shaping.

Rauma Finullgarn, Sandnes Tove, Hillesvåg Ask, Navia Duo etc (100% wool, 157-180 m / 144-197 yds, 50g)

Contrast two: 1 skein

Gauge
24 sts x 34 rnds = 10 cm / 4” in stockinette stitch and stranded colourwork.

Needles
Gauge-size circular needles for body, yoke, and sleeves. 1 mm smaller for rib.
The sample was made using 3.75 mm (US 5) for stockinette, 4 mm (US 6) for stranded colourwork and 2.75 mm (US 2) for rib.

The sizes are made to fit up to the given years of age. However, the best way to choose a size is based on chest measurement, plus 5 cm / 2” of positive ease.
