Vesna Tee feels like the first warm breeze of the season - light and fresh. Named after the Slavic goddess of spring, this airy, graceful layer is full of delicate textures.

The tee is knit sideways and can be worked in any number of colors. Vertical stripes, lots of lace, built-in i-cord finishes, comfortably shaped shoulders, boat neck, and simple straight silhouette make Vesna a perfect spring / summer project. Choose from 13 chest circumferences and 6 lengths to make a piece that feels truly yours!

Construction

  • The top is worked flat in two pieces. Each piece starts from provisional cast on and is knit sideways. Sets of increases and decreases shape the shoulders and the boat neck.

  • The fabric features stripes in five stitch patterns, from stockinette to lace.

  • All patterns are worked with the built-in i-cord edge. This edging later becomes the hem and the boat neck trim.

  • Once both panels are completed, shoulders are seamed and the sides of the top are joined with the three needle bind off. A few rows worked in pattern finish off arm openings.

  • If the projects is worked in two colors, there’s no need to break yarn - the floats are short and hidden in the i-cord edging.
