This Latvian stranded mitten pattern is shown in the book in two colors, but others could be added to the design for added impact. Size can be adjusted by using thinner or thicker yarns and larger or smaller needles. One can also use just the center portion of the chart with larger yarns and needles.

This mitten uses a 3rd color in the cuff with 4 sets of knit/purl rows (garter stitch) as well as a two color half braid.
