Vidzeme, Meņģele, p 54
This ethnographic mitten uses an old cuff of a type that dates back to the 18th Century made of a sequence of knit and purl rows - in this instance, there are six pairs of knit / purl rows. Following a transition band, the upper mitten is knit in two colors using an ancient pattern known as “crayfish”.
Check your gauge in pattern before casting on as changes to yarn or needle size will impact the gauge.
Mengele is located generally east of Riga.
