Ethnographic mittens from Maruta Grasmane’s book ”Latvieša Cimdi”.
Chart is on the page 66, from Vidzeme (region), Lielvārde (district), Rembate (village) which is located southeast of Riga near the Daugave River.

The cuff uses 2 x 2 ribbing. The colour-work part (upper mitten) has 88 stitches. The stars and sieves chart dates to the early 20th Century.
For these mittens, fine needles and fine yarn are used.
