The shawl is inspired by the traditional Shetland shawls, which are characterized by construction without cast on and cast off edges.
This means that the shawl becomes very flexible without tight edges.
If they are knitted in very thin yarn, they can be pulled through a finger ring - ringshawls.
However, it is not the case with this shawl, which, despite its size, can be pulled through an arm ring.
The shawl at the pictures is knitted of 1 ply merino yarn with runs 800 m / 100 g. The finished shawl weighs 240 g - which corresponds to approx. 2000 m.
If you want to knit the shawl in another type of yarn, the 2000 m can be a guideline in relation to yarn consumption.
The shawl is knitted on needles 3.25 mm.
Tension:
Swatch knitted in pattern in diagram 1 (the middle part of the shawl), washed and blocked:
24 stitches x 48 needles = 10 x10 cm.
The shawl’s finished measurements are 180 x 180 cm (blocked).
