Elevate your wardrobe with this chic knit-look vest crafted from luxuriously soft Peruvian highland wool. Featuring a flattering V-neck and optional side slits, it offers effortless versatility. The subtly slanted shoulders add a touch of modern sophistication, while the relaxed fit ensures all day comfort and style. Mimicking knitted brioche, the yarnover slip stitch in the back loop is one of Anna Erlandsson’s favourite crochet stitches. It forms a squishy, elastic, wonderfully textured fabric that will hold its shape through thick and thin, wear and tear.

NOTES
This vest is crocheted in yarn over slip stitches and slip stitches in back loops, with the rows running vertically, up and down the garment. It is worked in one piece, sideways, front to front.

The varying length of each row shapes the V-neck, armholes and shoulders, hence correct stitch count is important. Place stitch markers in the first and/or last stitch of the row if these are difficult to see.

As a separate step, and decorative detail, the front and back are joined together at the shoulders with a few rows that run perpendicular to the front and back rows.

Finally, the button bands and armhole edges are worked in regular slip stitches in back loops, mimicking the look of double knitting. Any references to left and right in the instructions, e.g. ‘left armhole’, will be reversed for left-handed crocheters.
