Viima
The vest is worked from the bottom up, first in the round and then back and forth from the beginning of armholes. Shoulder seams are grafted. The vest is finished with ribbing around the neckline and armholes.
Finished measurements:
Bust circumference: 79 (89, 100, 110) (121, 131, 142) cm / 31.5 (35.75, 40, 44.25) (48.5, 52.75, 56.75)”.
Length from shoulder to hem: 49 (50, 52, 53) (54, 56, 57) cm / 19.25 (19.75, 20.75, 21) (21.5, 22, 22.5)”.
Length from underarm to hem: 31 (31, 32, 32 ) (32, 33, 33) cm / 12.25 (12.25, 12.75, 12.75) (12.75, 13, 13)”.
Recommended ease 0–4 cm / 0–1.75” of negative or positive ease. Sample shown with approx. 2 cm / 0.75” of positive ease.
MATERIALS
Yarn: Tukuwool DK by Tukuwool (100% Finnish wool, 250 m / 273 yds – 100 g) in colourways 48 Olive oil (MC) and 01 Sake (CC).
Yarn consumption: 120 (135, 155, 170) (195, 220, 240) g (MC) and 50 (60, 70, 75) (85, 95, 105) g (CC) or approx. 300 (338, 388, 425) (488, 550, 600) m / 328 (370, 424, 465) (634, 604, 656) yds (MC) and 125 (150, 175, 188) (213, 238, 263) m / 137 (164, 191, 206) (233, 260, 288) yds (CC) of other DK-weight yarn.
Needles: 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles 80–100 cm / 32–40” long for colourwork and 3 mm (US 2.5) circular needles 80–100 cm long for ribbing. Additionally, if not using the magic loop technique: 3 mm (US 2.5) DPNs for the neckline and armhole ribbing. Or needle size to get the correct gauge.
Notions: Stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle.
