Let’s keep in touch! Sign up for the Park & Knit newsletter to stay in the loop about new designs, events, knit alongs, sales and more. ❤
A long vest/tunic hybrid with bow tie closures for your cozy quotidian life or your grand voyages out of the village. Knit from the top down with optional waist and hip shaping, the Village Vest is meant to be worn as either a standalone top or as an additional warm layer!
Needles & Notions:
• Size US 7 / 4.5 mm circular needles (for the body)
• Optional: Size US 7 / 4.5 mm DPNs (for the i-cord ties)
• Stitch holders or scrap yarn
• Stitch markers (6 regular markers & 2 removable markers)
• Tapestry needle
Sizing:
XS(S, M, L, XL) (XXL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)
Finished Garment Circumference:
27.5(31.5, 35.5, 39.5, 43.5) (47.5, 51.5, 55.5, 59.5)”
70(80, 90, 100.5, 110.5) (120.5, 131, 141, 151) cm
This garment is meant to be worn with 0-3.5” / 0-9 cm of negative ease at the full bust. To choose a size, take the measurement of your chest at the fullest point, subtract 0-3.5” / 0-9 cm and choose the closest size. Please note the finished garment circumference does not account for the extra 1-2”/ 2.5-5 cm the ribbed border and tie will afford you, but the ease recommendation does. I am pictured wearing the garment with 3.5” / 9 cm of negative ease. If you want more coverage for your vest or a less form fitting look, choose a size with up to 4” / 10 cm of positive ease.
Gauge:
20 stitches and 28 rows over 4” / 10 cm on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles, in flat stockinette stitch, blocked.
Yarn:
Worsted weight yarn
My sample uses The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers Pishkun yarn, a 100% rambouillet wool yarn, in the color The Lazy Moose.
Yardage:
625(720, 810, 900, 990) (1025, 1110, 1195, 1280) yards
570(660, 740, 825, 905) (935, 1015, 1095, 1170) meters
