Vindauga Baby Blanket
Yarn kits are available at Midgaards Have’s Etsy Shop.
New updated pattern, January 2018. Major update, pattern now contains an easy and a challenging version!
The Vindauga Baby Blanket is knit in panels of garter stitch that are then assembled, either by grafting or by using a three-needle bind off. Finally, an edge is knitted on and finished with a cute and stretchy picot bind off.
The pattern describes two versions, an easy and a challenging one. The easy version uses no special techniques and is manageable even for newer knitters. The challenging version uses provisional cast on and grafting, and will keep even the most ambitious knitter occupied.
In both versions, the result is a bouncy blanket that is absolutely seamless.
Blanket as shown measures approx. 84 x 110 cm (33 x 43 inches), but you can knit this blanket in any combination of yarn and gauge you like.
“Vindauga” is the Old Norse word for window. It consists of the parts “vind” meaning wind and “auga” meaning eye.
