Vintage Buttons Pillow
My Vintage Buttons Pillow is composed of granny squares. I always enjoy finding vintage buttons to sew onto the pillows I make. I attach them along the bottom side, so the pillowcase can be taken on and off of the insert. Hence, I thought it would be fun to make some granny squares that are inspired by vintage buttons! The backside is simply a traditional granny square.
Any dk weight yarn will work for this pattern. I used Rowan Summerlite DK yarn: 1 favorite denim, 1 summer, 1 fuchsia, and 1 powder pink. For the cream and black, I used Patons Grace yarn: 1 natural and 1 black. Additionally, you will need a 14 by 14 in (35 by 35 cm) square pillow insert and 5 buttons (1.5 cm in diameter). The pattern includes some pictures to explain the steps. I hope you enjoy the pattern!
