Square Trivet
Round 2: Portion after asterisk should read: ”sk next dc, dc4tog in next dc…”-- the rest of the row is correct.
Round Trivet
The last round of the backing is missing from both written instrux and diagrams and should read:
Round 14: @Sc in next 12 sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat from @ around, sl st in first sc to join--84 sc.
This will make both pieces end with the same stitch count, making it easier to stitch the halves together.
