This is a super simple pattern and an excellent way to use up remnants of lace weight yarn. The linen stitch creates a flat, woven look and in the hand dyed yarn I used, the subtle variegation gives a hint of stripes.
I finished my tie with a fabric backing around the neck area to stop the fabric stretching and for extra softness against the neck.
The return to fashion of the knitted tie has made this an excellent choice for a gift to the menfolk of my family and it is a really good, portable size to carry around in my handbag!
