CONSTRUCTION
This fitted, set-in-sleeve, open-front cardigan vest is designed in a heavy DK-weight wool yarn at a somewhat loose gauge, which creates a light-weight but structured fabric. It is worked from the top-down, with both fronts, back, and shoulders worked simultaneously through a heavily modified version of the Cocoknits and Ziggurat method. It begins at the back neck, increasing at four points similar to a raglan yoke to shape the shoulders. The back and two fronts are separated and worked in pieces, while increased at their front edges to create a v-neck, and at the same time, the armholes are shaped. Fronts and back are then joined again for the body to work seamlessly as one piece. The garment is edged simply throughout, without a button band.

SIZING
This pattern is size inclusive with nine size options, with garment bust measurement of 27.25, 30, 34.25 || 38, 42.25, 47 || 50.25, 54, 58.25 inches (68, 75.5, 86 || 95.5, 106, 117.5 || 126, 135.5, 146cm). See last photo in the gallery for schematic with finished garment measurements.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE
Using your full bust measurement, choose a size that will give you 4-6 inches (10-16cm) of negative ease (the difference between body’s larger measurements and the garment’s smaller measurements at this point). The vest has an open front and is not intended to close around the body. See schematic in photos. Light brown sample shown on 5’10” body in Size 3 with 3.75 inches (9.5cm) negative ease; dark brown sample shown on 5’10” body in Size 2 with 8 inches (20cm) negative ease.
The most fool-proof method is to measure a similar fitting piece in your wardrobe and choose a garment size that matches.
