Vintage Waves
Crochet socks are not knit socks, they do not work up the same and they do not feel the same.
If you have never crocheted socks before, it is very very important that you match the gauge of the pattern to be able to follow the instructions and get a similar sock. If you don’t have pattern gauge, follow your own foot measurements but be very aware that you will have to adjust the pattern to your needs.
Measurements you will need, foot length and desired sock length which should be 1” less than your foot length. For example if your foot measure 9.75” then your desired sock length would be 8.75”.
The sock pattern is worked toe-up using single crochet, extended sc, and wave stitches. This pattern features a U-toe, designed by me and offers a 48 stitch count and a 56 stitch count sock. Because of the stitches used the sock is very stretchy.
To really showcase the waves on the pattern I recommend a self-striping yarn of at least 120’’ of color repeats and 30g of a contrasting color for the toes, heels, and cuffs.
